Data show that satisfaction with one's purposefulness in life is not a consequence of wealth or income nor is it highly correlated with heath and education within the Latin American countries studied. It is related to satisfaction with one's social network and probably a direct result of meaning for living acquired from a culture of highly cohesive families and small communities.
