The US Strictness Index measures how strict a state is based on its laws on LGBT rights, abortion, pornography, alcohol, prostitution, drugs, capital punishment, conscription, internet censorship, incarceration rate and freedom of expression. All categories' score range from 2 to -2, depending on how lenient or strict they are.
